The son of Unbridled's Song is the 2-1 morning-line favorite for Saturday's Pennsylvania Derby at Parx Racing in Bensalem, Pa., a suburb of Philadelphia.
After a lackluster performance in the Triple Crown (he was beat a combined 451/4 lengths in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont), Lukas took off the blinkers, and the colt responded with the two best races of his career.
A week after the Midsummer Derby, Eric Guillot, Moreno's trainer, lodged a complaint with the New York Gaming Commission, alleging that Luis Saez, who rode Will Take Charge, used an electrical device to enhance his horse's Travers performance.
[...] signed up is Java's War (4-1), who won the Bluegrass at Keeneland on April 13 and is now in the barn of trainer Barclay Tagg after running for trainer Kenny McPeek in his first nine starts.
Other horses of interest are Speak Logistics (5-1), who was third in the Fountain of Youth at Gulfstream on Feb. 23 behind Orb and the retired Violence, and Fury Kapcori (8-1), who will be ridden by Hall of Famer Mike Smith for Hall of Fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer.
