Report: Tottenham are hopeful of attracting a £750m investment in the club
According to TBR Football, Tottenham Hotspur hope to get an enormous cash injection as Daniel Levy tries to attract investment into the club sooner rather than later.
Tottenham are open to big investment
The report says that it has long been an open secret that Spurs are willing to listen to offers for a minority stake in the club as well as a complete sale.
Several American private equity firms have allegedly explored a move for Tottenham, including MSP Sports Capital, who reportedly conducted full due diligence with a view to a full takeover.
However, it is explained that the investment firm subsequently turned its attention to Everton, and despite their attempts to take over the Toffees falling through, there has been no indication that they have revived their interest in Spurs.
Daniel Levy wants £750m to play with
The outlet explains that Levy’s £3.75 billion valuation of the club is a sticking point for many interested parties, particularly since a minority investor would not have operational control of the club.
TBR Football add that the Lilywhites are hopeful of attracting an investment of around £750m, which the club hope to funnel into various capital expenditure projects.
Whether anyone is actually willing to invest that much in a minority stake remains to be seen over the coming months and years.
Spurs Web Opinion
A full takeover of Spurs is extremely unlikely, given Levy’s huge valuation of the club.
A minority takeover is evidently what the Spurs chairman is looking for as it would give the club significant capital while allowing him to maintain control of the operations.
