A Palm Beach County School Board candidate won a seat Friday, and the county’s incumbent tax collector and property appraiser each sailed to new terms with no opposition.
Virginia Savietto, an administrative assistant to Palm Beach County Commissioner Gregg Weiss, won the School Board’s District 2 seat as a qualifying period ended Friday.
Also, both the Palm Beach Tax Collector Anne Gannon and Palm Beach Property Appraiser Dorothy Jacks won reelection when no challengers surfaced.
Two Palm Beach County School Board seats are still up for grabs. The District 1 and District 5 seats will be voted on in November. The candidates who qualified are:
— School Board District 1 seat: Matthew Jay Lane, Page Lewis and Francesca Wernisch.
— School Board District 5 seat: Gloria Branch, Mindy Koch, Mike Letsky, Suzanne Page and Charman Postel.
