LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- Zoosiana has announced it has begun a major capital improvement project to replace the wooden boardwalks throughout the zoo.
Starting Monday the north boardwalk will be temporarily closed, officials said. This will affect the following exhibits: spider monkeys, tigers, emu, zebra, ostrich, and lions, according to a post on the zoo's Facebook page.
"Improvements like this are possible because of your support of Zoosiana," the post reads. "We thank you in advance for your understanding and spirit of flexibility as we work to make improvements to YOUR zoo!"
The zoo will remain open during the project, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. seven days a week. It is located at 5601 US-90, at the foot of Ambassador Caffery Parkway, in Broussard.
