Emergency crews searched the Connecticut River on Monday morning for a man who reportedly jumped off the Arrigoni Bridge.
Officers from the Portland and Middletown Police Departments responded just after 9:40 a.m. to the report of a man jumping from the bridge and learned from witnesses that he parked his vehicle in a construction zone before jumping over a fence and plunging into the river below, according to Middletown police.
Police said the incident occurred on the Portland side of the bridge and that the man involved was not a part of the construction crew working at the time. He has not been identified.
