PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland's streak of daytime highs reaching the 80s came to an end on Sunday as PDX topped off at 77. Still, that is 4 degrees above normal for this time of year.
But the spike in afternoon highs are expected to return on Monday as our forecast calls for Portland to hit the low-80s with plenty of afternoon sunshine. That's all thanks to a weak ridge of high pressure rebuilding over our region to start the week.
Thus, we're still feeling like July already!

Over the next five days, Portland and the metro area will see temperatures hover right around 80 degrees for a high, possibly the mid-70s.
Once we get to the weekend, though, cooler and cloudier conditions along with a slight chance of isolated rain showers look to return to our region.
For now though, we'll keep rolling with these above-normal temps around the metro area. And, if you are planning to be out and about on Monday, make sure to apply that sunscreen and re-apply throughout the day with Monday's max UV index expected to be in the 'very high' category.
