Albany man charged with assault
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Albany Police report responding to reports of an assault near Delaware Avenue and Stanwix Street on Saturday around 5 p.m. Upon arrival, police say they found a 74-year-old man with facial injuries.
The victim told the police that a verbal altercation about a parking issue between him and the suspect led to the alleged assault, according to Albany Police. Following the verbal altercation, the suspect, Darryl Baker, 40, of Albany, allegedly got out of his car and began punching the victim in the face.
The victim was treated at Stratton VA Medical Hospital for his injuries. Baker remained on the scene when police arrived.
Baker was charged with second-degree assault. He will be arraigned on Sunday morning.
