YouTube Gold: A Top Ten Plays In Cameron List
And it’s pretty good too
There have been some amazing plays in the history of Cameron Indoor Stadium and this Top Ten video was posted in 2015, so there is a lot that isn’t covered (notably the insane plays by Zion Williamson). There are some we’d put in for sure that aren’t here, starting with these two: the Art Heyman vs. UNC fight in 1961 (Heyman boasted that he punched Frank McGuire in the nuts and met him years later and McGuire said “Artie, it still hurts”) and Taymon Domzalski’s stunning block against Keith Booth.
Booth was an aggressive, powerful player and he had an absolutely massive dunk lined up. Tomzalski wasn’t having it though and went up and just took it away. It was the most macho defensive play we’ve ever seen in Cameron.
The others that are here are pretty good though. We’re glad they got Johnny Dawkins stuffing David Rivers at the buzzer and there are some great Jason Williams plays too. Current head coach Jon Scheyer is involved in two plays as a passer. Mason Plumlee has a stunning reverse dunk too. Then there’s Sean Dockery’s beautiful half-court buzzer beater against Virginia Tech (it was even better because Coleman Collins had been taunting just before the shot, certain that the Hokies had won). Of course Jeff Capel’s shot against UNC is here although, curiously, it comes before the Top Ten starts.
