Morning Briefing: David Peterson Has Another Strong Rehab Start
Good morning Mets fans!
David Peterson continues to have a strong rehab assignment as he returns from offseason hip surgery. The 28-year-old threw 5 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball and struck out eight batters on Tuesday with Double-A Binghamton in a game against the Bowie Baysox, the Baltimore Orioles affiliate.
Peterson gave up five hits and did not walk a batter as the Rumble Ponies won 2-0.
This was Peterson’s fourth rehab start. His previous three appearances came with Low-A St. Lucie.
Peterson has pitched 14 scoreless innings and struck out 24 batters in his rehab assignment. After the game, he told reporters he expects his next start to be with Triple-A Syracuse.
