I live in a new build and the garden’s terrible – it’s constantly flooded and my house is overrun with bug larvae
A WOMAN has revealed that living in a new build isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Many assume a new build means the house and garden will be of a superior quality, but Chloe from the UK, says that isn’t the case.
Chloe showed off her new build garden which was constantly flooded[/caption] She was also dealing with lots of crane flies[/caption]“Do you have a nice garden?” she asked.
“Or do you live in a new build?”
Chloe then showed images of her garden and it was shocking.
The grass had become nonexistence, instead it was replaced with sludgy mud as the lawn had become water-logged.
The sad sight showed her kids play equipment sinking into the muddy lawn.
But that wasn’t even the worst part.

She then revealed the grim bug infestation that had been caused by the flooded lawn.
“Crane flies like moist, vegetative, outdoor habitats, and are usually only seen around a home on external walls and window screens,” reports pest experts Orkin Canada.
“They lay their eggs in moist soil and when the larvae emerge, they feed on the roots of grasses, decaying organic matter, decaying wood, vegetation, and turf.
Hundreds of larvae could be seen around the back door leading to her garden.
“Three years of leather jackets and poor drainage resulting in the state of this.. (if you know, you know,)” she captioned the post.
Chloe didn’t reveal if she had bought the property or rented it, adding: “I haven’t stated anywhere if it’s bought or council. If I bought it I’m stupid and if it’s council I’m a chav & poor.”
The clip has since gone viral on her TikTok account @missychloexox with over 3 million views and 71k likes.
People were quick to share some advice and their own experiences of new build homes.
