I’m a league one WAG – I lie to my kids about their own birthdays so we can have a fake celebration with their dad
A WAG has revealed that she lies to her kids about when their birthdays are, so that they can have a fake celebration when their dad is available.
WAG is an acronym for wives and girlfriends, and refers to the partners of professional football players.

WAGs are known for leading lives of immense luxury, however, Abbie Orchard has shared that the lifestyle is not always all it’s cracked up to be.
The mum said that being a WAG is “extremely” lonely, and revealed that she has sacrificed a lot to be the partner of a football player.
Abbie’s fiancé Callum Guy is a midfielder for Carlisle United, who are in League One.
The couple met during school and Callum now spends the majority of his weekends playing for a team,
Abbie explained that her partner has a very hectic schedule so they have to celebrate the birthdays of their kids Ava and George when he has a day off, as opposed to doing so on the actual day.
The WAG explained that by lying to her kids, Callum can spend the day with them and can open presents and attend birthday parties.
However, she is unsure how this will work when her kids get older, and realise when their birthdays are.
Speaking to the Daily Star, she said: ““I definitely think people underestimate the work that the partners have to put in and the sacrifices we have to make.
“Most of us live nowhere near our family and we cannot book things in advance as the schedule is so unpredictable.
“Our partners miss a lot of important things such as birthdays and Christmas.
“It is so hard planning things to do as a family. We now only book on the day of as his schedule can change at any time.
Days off can change so we like to book on the day so it saves having to disappoint the children.
“I definitely think it is just as hard as Callum. He is a very present dad and to miss birthdays and school plays is hard for him.
“But so that nobody misses out we usually celebrate those things on his days off.”
