A 63-year-old CT man convicted of sexual assault gets prison. The crime occured at the victim’s home
A Connecticut man has been sentenced to serve more than two years in prison for a 2018 sexual assault, according to state judicial authorities.
Yong Sik Kim, 63, of Brookfield, was sentenced to a total of five years in prison, but suspended after serving 27 months, and to 15 years of probation, for a 2018 sexual assault in Danbury, according to state judicial authorities.
A jury in February found Kim guilty at Danbury Superior Court of third-degree sexual assault and assault of an elderly person in the third degree. Authorities said the court imposed a “sentence of five years, execution suspended after 27 months” for the third-degree sexual assault charge and 364 days to serve on the assault of an elderly person in the third degree count, with the time to run concurrently.
Authorities said the evidence at the trial showed “the defendant sexually assaulted a co-worker at the victim’s residence,” and that prosecutors “introduced DNA evidence to corroborate the victim’s assertions.”
