Stormy Daniels caught Trump's attorney in multiple lies during trial: reporter
Actress and director Stormy Daniels managed to capture the defense attorney questioning her in several lies, one reporter explained.
Speaking to MSNBC on Thursday after the 14th day of trial in Donald Trump's hush money case, New York Times reporter Susanne Craig made key observations that she thinks the jury likely noticed as well.
Craig explained that there were several examples during Daniels' cross-examination of Trump's lawyer, Susan Necheles, of misquoting the witness. Daniels refused to acquiesce to what Necheles claimed she said publicly.
"It was so impressive to see her when she was going back-and-forth with Susan Necheles," Craig told host Nicholle Wallace. "She would ask her about what one of the quotations was. She said, 'You said that you would be instrumental in putting him in jail.' And Stormy is like, 'Show me where I said that?'"
Wallace asked if Daniels had said it, and Craig explained that she hadn't.

"Susan Necheles had to pull up an exhibit, and the exhibit didn't say that," said Craig. "This happened over and over. Stormy Daniels was right on that. She didn't accept one thing."
Craig explained that sometimes a lawyer would ask someone, "You said this," and read an intentionally incorrect quote, and people would agree with it.
"Sometimes you wrongly agree to that, and she didn't give an inch," Craig recalled. "Several times, Stormy Daniels caught her, and there was some back-pedaling that went on. I think the strength -- I saw a strong woman on the stand today."
Former FBI general counsel Andrew Weissmann agreed with the assessment, saying that Daniels was "impressive."
"To your example of, 'Where does it say ... didn't you once say you want to be instrumental in putting him in jail,'" Weissmann recalled. "'She said, 'You show me where I said that.' She was right, by the way."
He said that Necheles put the quote up, and it was clear Daniels didn't say those words "jail" or "instrumental." It was then followed by hours of conversation about whether or not they had food when he invited her to "dinner." The analysts said that it was so bad that even Weissmann wanted to tell Necheles to stop.
