‘I know what he told me’ – Marco Silva comments on Adarabioyo’s future amid Spurs links
Fulham boss Marco Silva has admitted that Tosin Adarabioyo has already told him whether he wants to remain at the club but the Portuguese coach refused to divulge the centre-back’s decision.
It has been widely reported over the past couple of weeks that Adarabioyo had turned down Fulham’s contract proposals and decided to leave the club on a free transfer this summer (Fabrizio Romano).
While some outlets have reported recently that Newcastle United are at the front of the queue to secure the 26-year-old (The Northern Echo), other sources have said that the race for the defender’s signature still remains wide open, with Tottenham very much still in it (Ben Jacobs).
On Tuesday, Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe revealed that the Lilywhites’ proposal had been turned down by the Fulham star ahead of the summer transfer window.
Adarabioyo’s future at Fulham remains unclear
Silva has now chosen to keep his cards close to his chest when asked about Adarabioyo but he confessed that the centre-back has told him his decision.
When asked about the Englishman, the Fulham boss told The Standard: “I know all the noise around him and his future. Of course, I have been speaking to him. I have a really close relationship like with all the players and everything is clear between myself and him, like all the other players.
“If Tosin is going to be on the pitch, he’s going to be on the pitch. He’s going to be in the squad if I’m going decide for him to be in the squad. When it starts to come, the news that he’s not going to be with us next season, I know what he told me.
“I prefer to keep that between us. Of course, that’s a decision from the player. But, apart from that, Tosin is ready to play or to be in the squad if I decide for him to be there.”

It is clear from Silva’s statement that Adarabioyo is on his way out. If he felt the centre-back was going to stay, the Fulham boss would have said that. However, I do not think the defender would be too keen on moving to Spurs as he would know that his chances of getting regular game time are quite slim.
