Seven barbershop workers killed while sleeping in Balochistan, Pakistan
Media outlets have reported that at least seven male barbers were killed in Balochistan, Pakistan. These men, who worked in men’s barber shops (salons), were attacked and shot while they were asleep by unidentified gunmen.
India Today reported on Thursday, May 9, that seven Pakistani barbers were shot dead by unidentified gunmen while sleeping in their residential area near the Gwadar port in Balochistan.
The Pakistani newspaper, The Dawn, also reported that these men were targeted early Thursday morning. According to this media outlet, the victims were from Punjab, the most populous province of Pakistan, and worked at a barbershop in the “Sorbandar” area.
It is worth mentioning that this shooting, which also injured one person, occurred near the fish port in the Sorbandar area.
Geo News, another prominent Pakistani media outlet, reported quoting Gwadar district police that the bodies of the seven deceased barbers and the injured individual were transferred to the Gwadar hospital.
It should be noted that earlier this year, six male barbers were similarly killed in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.
