I’m a teacher and my students are vocal if they don’t like my outfits – luckily I was able to fix a revealing ‘disaster’

A TEACHER has revealed wardrobe malfunctions and students’ opinions will never stop her from showcasing her sense of style.

She admits her bold and colorful fashion defies what many people think teachers should wear at school.

Natasha Bright shares her outfits with over 67,000 Instagram followers

Natasha Bright has racked up over 67,000 followers on Instagram by sharing her daily outfits.

She teaches six and seven-year-old students in the first grade at a school in Australia.

Speaking to The U.S. Sun, she revealed that she’s always prepared for what the kids are going to say about her outfits.

“I get different comments every day,” she said.

“I have this one kid I taught a few years ago but every day she’ll come up to me and she’ll make a statement about what I look like today.

“She’ll be like, ‘Oh, you look like the queen of the bees today or you look like a Barbie doll.

“She’s hilarious and once one kid comments on an outfit, then all the kids follow.

“They’ll be like, ‘Oh, I love your outfit, Miss Bright.”

She laughed at how sometimes she’s in disbelief that her outfits are being critiqued by children.

Meanwhile, their parents will say she “looks like a princess.”

MAKING A STATEMENT

Bright said older colleagues have never commented on her choice of clothing but they will stare.

“I think some of my outfits people get a bit funny and think it might not be appropriate,” she said.

I had this one jumpsuit I was wearing last year and I don’t even know what I did. I must have turned and then it just ripped.

“But, I think as long as you can’t see through it, you can’t see up it and you can’t see down it.

“I think it’s appropriate and I’ve never been in trouble for what I wear or anything.

“I think my sense of style definitely matches my name. Lots of bright colors and things like that.”

Bright said she takes inspiration for her outfits from social media

LOOKING FOR INSPO

The teacher revealed her style has been influenced heavily by Blair Waldorf from the TV series Gossip Girl.

She also spends a lot of time looking at eye-catching outfits on Pinterest.

She decided to start sharing her “cute” fashion choices on Instagram after someone told her that she should become an influencer.

“I was posting a lot of different activities that we were doing and resources that we were using at school,” she said.

“Then I just started posting my outfits and kind of blew up from there and people would message me asking for ideas for what to wear.

“I spend Sunday going through Pinterest or I look on TikTok to gather all of my ideas.

“From that, I’ll work out what I need to iron for the week and make sure it’s washed and ready.

Bright said her entire back was exposed when a jumpsuit ripped while teaching

“I am not a person that can throw on an outfit and go.

“I do not have enough time in the morning to spend the time organizing what I’m going to wear.

“I have to plan for what I’m wearing the night before.

“I’ve been really good at not spending money because I’m going to Europe in August.

“I recycle what I wear and love transitional layers.

Safety pins are my savior.

“Putting different things with my other items of clothing like shirts underneath or jackets over top just to mix it up a little bit and different colored shoes.”

Bright said she has a large range of clothes in her closet which helps when trying not to spend money.

Blue jeans and a denim jacket are among her staple pieces that go with everything.

She said her favorite brands to shop are Petal & Pup, Seed Heritage, Zara, Asos, and The Iconic.

Bright said she avoids wearing white clothes on the days when they will be painting

“I’m in my bow era,” she said referring to her favorite trend.

“I am also really loving ballet flats, but I’m yet to invest in any.

“I might buy a cheaper brand first and see how I go and then see if it’s worth investing.”

The 29-year-old said she has to plan her outfits around the activities she will be doing with the kids.

EMBARRASSING MOMENT

The school doesn’t have any rules about clothing, hair, or makeup other than ensuring that shoulders aren’t exposed.

Bright said she always keeps safety pins on hand for any wardrobe malfunctions

“If we’re painting I’ll definitely make sure not to wear white because the amount of times I’m just covered in paint it’s a disaster,” she said.

“I had this one jumpsuit I was wearing last year and I don’t even know what I did.

“I must have turned and then it just ripped and the whole back ripped.

“It was a bit of a disaster but I always have safety pins on hand. Safety pins are my savior.”

Bright said her “teacher bestie” is a sewer and able to stitch her outfits if needed, otherwise she relies on her mom.

She revealed that many of her colleagues follow her on Instagram.

She encourages people who are hesitant to express their sense of style to give it a go because “there’s no harm” even doing it at work.

“I have to work out what I’m filming just to make sure I haven’t got anything crazy on that day,” she said.

“I love a bold moment, I’m big into color.

“I’ll normally pick one item and then style my outfit around that piece of clothing.

“Generally I film all the outfit posts in the morning before the kids come.

“That’s the best it’s gonna look.”

Bright said she’s never gotten into trouble at work because of her clothing choices
