My genius hack means I only have to heat my outdoor pool once and it stays warm for days – it worked so well last summer
A MUM has been praised after sharing a genius hack to keep her outdoor pool warm all summer long.
Louise explained that she’d come up with the trick last year, and it worked so well that she’s recycling it for this year too.
In a video on TikTok, she showed herself setting up, putting the frame for the polytunnel in place first, before placing the fabric part over the top.
Once it was in position, it completely covered the pool – ensuring it would easily heat up, and retain that heat.
“The polytunnel going over the pool, we had great success last summer with this to heat and keep the pool warm,” Louise captioned the video.
She also revealed that the structure is “only temporary”, when someone said that she needed “a higher one”.
“I know, I couldn’t find one, but this is only temporary as we should be moving – then we will have a proper enclosure.”
“Can I ask the make, size and price of pool please?” another questioned.
“We got it from Costco think we paid £500 its a Bestway and it’s an 18x9ft if that helps,” Louise replied.
“My children love swimming and I have 130ft garden so wanted biggest I can get to suit them,” the person responded.
“Online ordering right now. Happy summer guys!”
To which Louise promised: “You won’t regret it!”
She added: “We weren’t going to have it up this year, but we caved in!”
You can get polytunnels a similar size to the one Louise has for around £160.
And they last several years, so it’s a worthwhile investment.
In addition, they’re incredibly weather-resistant, meaning they’re the ideal choice to withstand the changeable British weather.
Another benefit is that the structure can help prevent bugs and debris from plants and trees from getting into the pool.
