Friends remember newlywed and friend killed in crash
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The two people killed in a tragic crash on I-44 Tuesday afternoon have been identified. News Four has learned the driver was a newlywed and the passenger was a close friend.
A family friend of the passenger talked with News Four sharing memories and remembering her beloved friend.
"My sister, she calls me just frantically crying, like screaming. And I'm like, what's wrong? What's wrong? She's like Brice. He's gone. He's gone. He's dead," said Kenna Bufford, a family friend of Brice Kukuzke.
Best friends, Max Pfiefer and Brice Kukuzke were driving when their 3-wheel roadster somehow swerved into the metal barrier.
"The investigation is still ongoing and very active," said Preston Cox, with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Brice's family friends are heartbroken and said he was kind; a friend to all.
"His laugh. Like, that's all I can hear right now in the back of my head is his loud contagious laugh," said Bufford.
The crash came days after Max got married. Brice, also left behind a fiancée.
"I was contacting his fiancée. I'm like, you know what's going on? She's freaking out. It just was unreal and I still can't believe it, you know," said Bufford.
Bufford said she's thankful for the memories and it's something she'll hold onto forever.
"He just, he always knew how to comfort you," said Bufford.
A friend, brother, and son, gone too soon.
"Life is just too short to not hold your loved ones close and just thank God," said Bufford.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol said its not clear exactly what caused the crash and they're still investigating.
