Schwalbacher Brewing coming to Amsterdam
AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The City of Amsterdam is getting a new brewery. Schwalbacher Brewing is set to open at 30 E Main Street, with its grand opening scheduled for July 4.
The brewery is owned by husband and wife duo Colin and CheyAnne Schwalbach. The location includes both the brewing operations and a taproom.
"We moved to Amsterdam over a year ago and felt that the community was underserved in the aspects of quality beer, places to gather for the community, and businesses in the downtown area," said Colin Schwalbach.
Schwalbach said they are a small-batch brewery and their goal is to have rotating beers all year round. "This allows us to continually push the envelope and be creative," said Schwalbach.
There will only be limited finger food at the brewery, said Schwalbach, and they'll be partnering with different food trucks throughout the summer. The brewery will also be offering growler pours and limited edition bombers.
The grand opening for Schwalbacher Brewing on July 4 includes a food truck, games, and, of course, beer. Schwalbach said the tentative hours for the brewery are 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
"We are excited to bring some fun beers to the community," said Schwalbach. "We also plan on hosting different kinds of community events. If there are any other small businesses that would like to partner with us, please reach out to us through social media or through our website."
