House fire in Whitehall kills young girl
WHITEHALL, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A fire at a multi unit property in Whitehall claimed the life of a young girl on Wednesday. The child has been identified as Airyonna Jabot.
Washington County District Attorney Tony Jordan was on scene. He told NEWS10 that his presence was routine procedure, not necessarily because the incident is suspicious.
A litany of agencies including the New York State police forensic examiners were also present Wednesday afternoon. Whitehall volunteer fire, Washington County emergency services, and the Red Cross was there as well. The Whitehall Central School district says grief counselors will be on hand for Jabot's classmates at the school she attended.
