Puma Releases Genderless Shoe Collaboration With Palomo Spain
Puma is bringing the ’70s and ’80s to its sporty shoe game in its latest genderless collection with designer Palomo Spain.
The collection will feature a classic Puma Palmero sneaker and a Nitefox loafer.
The suede Palmero comes in a colorblocking of different shades of red and a large splash of pink along the side. The laces are a noir color with a tan sole and rounded toe.
The platform loafer comes in white with a leather material, or a chestnut colored suede with fringe along the top of the shoe with a large charm in the middle and a rounded toe. There is detailing along the platform that gives the shoe a sporty yet dressed-up look.
According to a press release, the shoes embody a fusion of retro flair and contemporary touches with premium fabrics, distinctive logos and trims, and a rich color palette of warm tones. The collection launches May 11 and will be available online, in Puma flagship stores, and selected Puma retailers. Prices have yet to be shared in the line which will also feature apparel and accessories.
“I’m really excited about the knitwear,” Alejandro Gómez Palomo, Founder and Creative Director of Palomo Spain said in the release. “I love a white look. I think you can look like the smartest and most elegant version of yourself when you’re fully dressed in white. The long pants and long-sleeved knitted tracksuit are delicious.”
About the Shoes
Puma’s signature Palmero sneaker’s silhouette has made a big comeback since debuting in the early ’80s. The silhouette was seen on the feet of many British soccer fans. Like the original, the Palermo is complete with its signature tag at the upper, a T-toe construction, and classic gum sole. It offers a leather base, suede Formstrip and suede overlays.
