'Third time's a charm:' Bagel shop moving to Lake George
LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Kerry Smith opened Glens Falls Bagels on South Street in Glens Falls in November 2022. The bagel shop then moved to South Glens Falls and reopened in June 2023. At the end of October, Smith announced the shop was closed until further notice.
Now, Smith is opening the bagelry in a new location: Lake George. Smith, a Brooklyn native and former owner of the Glenmoore Lodge on Glen Lake, said it has been a dream of his to have a shop on the main strip in Lake George.
The bagel shop will be located in the former Moose on the Loose Deli at 176 Canada Street. And since the shop's not in Glens Falls anymore, Smith said it'll be known as Lake George Bagels, a Glens Falls Bagels company.
"Third time's a charm," said Smith.
Lake George Bagels will be serving fresh-made bagels, homemade cream cheeses, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, pizza bagels, and other surprise food items. The shop is currently under construction, as Smith is waiting for some equipment to come in before he opens.
Smith plans to open Lake George Bagels during Memorial Day weekend but may have a soft opening before that. The shop will be open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. and open at 8 a.m. on the weekends.
