Suspect in March shooting near Central Library arrested
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A man suspected in the March murder of Aaron Beasley near Central Library was arrested Tuesday authorities said.
According to Portland police, Alexander J. Lewis was arrested in Gresham Tuesday by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
Investigators believe Lewis shot and killed Beasley on March 17 near the Central Library in Downtown Portland. He faces charges including second-degree murder, unlawful use of a firearm, and felon in possession of a firearm.
The incident is still under investigation and authorities are asking anyone with information who hasn't already spoken with detectives to contact police.
