‘It’s a dream come true’ cries savvy mum as she bags a month’s worth of Aldi shopping for FREE
A MUM told how her all dreams came true when she bagged a real-life supermarket sweep.
Georgina Griffiths was given five minutes to zoom around her local Aldi and pick up almost anything she wanted.

She’s packed out her freezer and her cupboards and reckons she scored at least a month’s worth of shopping during her tiring run.
Georgina revealed it was something she’d longed to do ever since seeing Dale Winton’s hit game show as a youngster.
She said: “It really was the dream experience for every 90s kid.
“Growing up and watching the original show it’s always been something I wanted to do. When the chance came up I knew I had to apply.
“The staff made it really exciting and they were my own ‘pit crew’ as they called themselves.
“It was everything I hoped for.”
A pal shared the applications on a group chat and bartender Georgina got her form away as quickly as possible.
She was stunned when Aldi bosses came back and told her she’d won the chance to raid the shelves at the shop at Aberdeen beach.
Because she has twin boys, aged two, and a four-year-old daughter she drew up a strategy to get essential items.
Everything was up for grabs, except booze and some non-food special buys.
Georgina said: “I have three small children so my priorities were the nappies and children’s snacks, cat food and meat to stock our freezer.
“I had a plan of the route I would take for each priority item and I stuck to my plan.
“It went so quickly I didn’t get a chance to catch my breath. I was exhausted.”
Everything Georgina picked up she got to take home and she picked foodbank Cfine as her chosen charity.
She racked up £625.87 in items and found an inflatable beach ball which meant Aldi doubled the total and donated it to Cfine.
Georgina said: “I did forget a few things I was hoping to get, such as some cleaning products.
“But overall I was happy with what I managed to achieve in those 5 minutes.
“Luckily, I have a big chest freezer so found space for all the frozen and meat stuff.
“But most items are in my under stairs cupboard for future use.”
How do Aldi Specialbuys work?
ALDI Specialbuys are often snapped up fast, making them some of the most covetable items on sale at the supermarket.
The aisle of Aldi Specialbuys is the first place where shoppers can find Aldi’s most amazing products that are available in stores or about to hit shelves soon.
Aldi Specialbuys appear in store every Thursday and Sunday while stocks last!
While all Aldi Specialbuys are launched every Thursday and Sunday, shoppers can browse online on the Friday prior to see what’s coming up before venturing out to shop.
Georgina’s partner is also a huge fan of the original show where contestants would go “wild in the aisles”.
So he was excited for her and as delighted as the kids with all the tasty products she brought home from her unusual day out.
Georgina said: “It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
“The team at Aldi really made it special and got involved with cheering me on and swapping out the trolleys when needed. A big thanks to them.
“I would do it all over again if I ever got the chance.”
