Report: The latest Spurs loan update – Tanganga sent off for getting punched in the face

There is not long left now until the end of the season, and some of the players Spurs loaned out to other clubs have now completed their time at their temporary clubs. Here’s how they all got on in the last week.

The Tottenham first-team squad still have work to do, with three games left until the end of the Premier League campaign.

But, the Championship season is over, meaning a handful of Tottenham’s fringe players are now ready to call time on their loan spells and return to North London.

Meanwhile, across Europe, clubs in Spain, Italy, Turkey, and the Netherlands are preparing for their final games, too.

So, here’s how the ten players still out on loan from Tottenham performed (or not, as the case may be) over the last week.

Tanguy Ndombele

The Frenchman remained on the bench for the fifth time in the last six games as Galatasaray stormed to a 6-1 win over Sivasspor. The Turkish side are closing in on another league title, but Ndombele is not playing a part in that success.

Djed Spence

Genoa played out a thrilling 3-3 draw against AC Milan at the San Siro, and Spence played the full 90 minutes this weekend. With three games to go in Serie A, Spence will be hoping to finish strong and perhaps earn himself a permanent move to Italy.

Sergio Reguilon

Reguilon played the full match as Brentford ground out a 0-0 draw against Fulham at the weekend, and picked up a yellow card in the process. With Brentford now safe from relegation, there is little to play for, but the Spaniard will be keen to maintain his solid form and earn a transfer this summer.

Alejo Veliz

Finally, Veliz made it onto the pitch for Sevilla, playing six minutes from the bench in a 3-0 win over Granada. That was the Argentine striker’s first appearance since the start of March, and he will likely be ready for this dreadful loan spell to come to an end.

Troy Parrott

Back in the team after serving a one-game suspension, Parrott played the full 90 minutes for Excelsior Rotterdam but was on the wrong side of a 3-0 defeat to NEC Nijmegen. His side now have two games to escape the relegation play-offs, but will need to pick up points against Heracles and Feyenoord.

Joe Rodon

Rodon is one Championship player who still has a job to do, as Leeds United aim to secure promotion back to the Premier League via the play-offs. Leeds lost to Southampton at the weekend, but Rodon put in a “solid” display (Leeds Live). That defeat leaves them in third place and facing a play-off semi-final against Norwich.

Japhet Tanganga

The good news is that Tanganga’s spell at Millwall ended with a victory against Swansea, as the Lions ended up in 13th place after a brush with a relegation battle. The bad news is that Tanganga was sent off in the 85th minute after being involved in a scuffle with Swansea’s Jerry Yates. Upon inspecting the footage, it seems Yates hit Tanganga in the face yet the Spurs man also received his marching orders. There is a good chance Japhet could get the red card rescinded.

Alfie Devine and Ashley Phillips

Plymouth Argyle avoided relegation on the final day of the season, after securing a 1-0 win against Hull City to finish 21st in the Championship. Devine and Phillips will now return to Spurs, but it has been suggested that Plymouth are keen to take the pair on loan again next season (Plymouth Live).

Matthew Craig

Doncaster and Matthew Craig could well be headed for Wembley in the near future. A 2-0 win against Crewe in the first leg of the League Two play-off semi-final helped Doncaster get one step closer to promotion, and Craig himself managed to register an assist in that game.
