Speaking to The U.S. Sun, she revealed thinning locks can be caused by several factors but a dedicated routine can boost hair health and stimulate growth.
LOST LOCKS
Emir said it’s important to identify the cause of hair loss before starting any treatment.
Hormonal imbalances, stress, genetics, and menopause are among the common causes of shedding.
“See a good hairdresser that specializes in hair loss, they should be able to help you out,” she said.
“It’s also important to keep your hair and scalp clean.
“Washing every day will not cause your hair to fall out when using a mild shampoo with no harsh chemicals.
“However, the heat used after hair washing isn’t good for your hair.
“Leave it to dry naturally if possible.”
STRANDS SAVIOR
Emir advised avoiding overbrushing tresses when they’re still wet.
She said hair should be worn in loose styles such as a ponytail or plait to reduce shedding.
“There are also some great products that help slow down the hair loss and prevent the hair from breaking,” she said.
“Minoxidil foam/ solution is a fantastic product.
“Apply directly to the scalp, it can help stimulate hair growth.
“Once you start using it though, you must continue treatment for the best results.”

The hair expert recommended also making dietary changes alongside the topical treatment.
“I would suggest visiting a dermatologist to check all your blood counts,” Emir said.
“Hair loss might be due to iron deficiency or thyroid problems which can be resolved easily with the right supplements and treatments.
“Staying healthy and eating well will also make a difference to the quality of your hair, same as your skin.
“Fast food is high in saturated and trans fats, which can have a detrimental effect on your hair and even shrink hair follicles, leading to thinning hair and hair loss.”
