My 7-year-old has an epic skincare regime… trolls say it’ll burn her skin but she doesn’t want wrinkles so I buy it all
THE mother of a seven-year-old with a skincare regime to rival most adults has hit back at trolls who say it’ll “age her”, insisting she’s just “expressing herself”.
Madisyn Dior regularly shares videos of herself on her social media pages – which are managed by her mum Sienna – but has found herself attracting criticism with her lengthy skincare regime given her tender age.
However, her mum – who’s training to be an aesthetician – insisted she’s well versed on which products are safe for her to use.
Speaking to Fabulous about her daughter’s skincare routine, Sienna said: “We don’t use products that contain harsh chemicals.
“This is a cute way kids are starting to express themselves. It’s fun and it’s good to start young.”
As for those who have a “negative perception”, Sienna says she uses “skin analysis” to make sure the products are suitable for her delicate skin.
Madi added that she’s keen to halt the ageing process, despite being just seven.

“When I get older I don’t wanna have no wrinkles,” she said.
“I don’t wanna look 70!
“When I’m 20 I still wanna look young.”
Madi hasn’t had to buy any of the products herself as Sierra treats her to them – spending around £40 per haul – and uses them herself as well – with the mother and daughter both coming up with a daily routine using the skincare products.
However, trolls – and concerned parents – regularly comment on Madi’s videos.
“It’s actually bad for her – my daughter’s 12 and her doctor said when they are that young, meaning Madi’s age, her skin is so pure and fresh using those things on their skin can actually hurt them in the long run,” one wrote.
“You’re gonna look 20 at 15!” another added.
“Girl gone be burning her skin,” a third commented.
“Girl don’t even have all her permanent teeth,” someone else said.
“You aren’t even at the age where your face breaks out or wrinkles, but you definitely will if you keep doing that,” another warned.
“You’re damaging your skin barrier though – you’re using things that you don’t need yet,” someone else said.
As another said: “It’s crazy how seven year olds now do skincare and I didn’t even know skincare existed until I was like 12.”
What kind of skincare routine IS suitable for a seven-year-old?

For kids, skincare is simple, all it needs is a gentle cleanse where I’d recommend something like Byoma Creamy Jelly Cleanser, £9.99, and a soft flannel, muslin cloth or sponge is handy for that hard-to-budge dried ketchup.
If your child is experimenting with make-up, then a micellar water like Simple Micellar Cleansing Water, £2.50, is the quickest and easiest way to remove colour cosmetics.
Then a PH balanced, fragrance free moisturiser like CeraVe Moisturising Cream, £5, is a nice part of a bed-time routine and can often help them wind down as well as help keep their skin hydrated.
If your child suffers from eczema or dry skin, CeraVe is a great brand to use, as is Aveeno. They’re both gentle and nourishing, so won’t dry out skin or cause irritation, but stick to a moisturiser and cleanser to avoid overcomplicating things.
An SPF is great, especially during the summer, and Garnier Ambre Solaire Ultra-Light Sensitive Face Fluid SPF50+, £12, will work for the full family as it’s not greasy and sits well under make-up.
Reflecting on the mixed response Madi’s videos have received, Sierra said: “We all should be incorporating a daily skin care routine to maintain healthy skin.
“These kids are preserving their youthful skin.
“How could you have something bad to say about that?”
And Madi added: “People always tell me I’m going to look old because of my skincare regime.
“But it’s why my skin looks so glossy great and y’all’s not!
“What people say about me don’t really bother me. I’m happy!”
