Gamethread: White Sox at Rays
Grifol yanks the White Sox offensive weapon for a weird lineup in Tampa
Happy Tuesday, White Sox friends, and happy probable starter day. I can’t get myself to say happy Michael Soroka day. It doesn’t have the same ring when saying it for a starter who’s 0-3.
Soroka takes the bump in Tampa today with a painful 6.48 ERA, and he’s facing a perfectly average team across the board. Hopefully he trips and falls on a horseshoe, ass-down, so he gets over whatever internal tremors he has that are causing his personal slump.
The Rays are 18-18, and although it’s still early in the season, they’re scraping the bottom of a competitive American League East division, and will need to heat up to rise in the ranks. Luckily for them, they’re playing the White Sox.

As you can see, Tommy Pham is missing, because Grifol loves giving him random days off. With an offense this abysmal, it doesn’t really matter how you line up the troops.
For everyone complaining about the order, these 9 are hitting a combined .217. The order doesn't matter, it's all bad...

At least fan favorite (me, I’m the fan) Randy Arozarena is in the middle of a slump. Unfortunately for the White Sox, Josh Lowe’s robust 2-for-5 return from the IL and Jonny DeLuca’s explosive streak are giving the Rays favor in today’s match.

Zach Eflin (1-4, 4.17 ERA) has been lukewarm at best during his second season with the Rays, but something tells me he’ll be recording a W today.
First pitch is at 5:50pm CST on NBC Sports Chicago. Listen in on ESPN 1000.
