WATCH: Lightning strikes a flag pole in Shawnee
SHAWNEE, Okla. (KFOR) — Severe and damaging storms rolled through parts of Oklahoma on Monday night during Oklahoma's first high risk weather day since 2019.
Storms made their way throughout the western and northern parts of Oklahoma early on before flying through southwest OKC into Norman, Moore, Midwest City, Choctaw and Shawnee.
As the storm traveled through Shawnee, a lightning strike was captured on video as it struck a flag pole outside of the Finley & Cook PLLC building — causing the dirt in the flower bed around it to go flying into the air.
No one at the Finley & Cook PLLC was hurt and no serious damage was done to the building.
Tracy Shepherd, Operations Director of Finley & Cook, shared video from the security camera.
