Four cheap ways to plan the perfect hen party and give the bride a night to remember
ONE of the best parts of your friend being a bride-to-be is celebrating the upcoming nuptials with a hen-do.
Planning a bash that is affordable but memorable can be a little tricky but here are some ideas to party without breaking the bank . . .
We have four cheap ways to plan the perfect hen party and give the bride a night to remember[/caption]A PLACE TO CRASH: Accommodation is usually the biggest cost of a hen-do.
Short-term rentals through Airbnb can throw up some deals if you book in advance.
But it is also worth checking sites such as booking.com and groupaccommodation.com.
Even if you find a suitable option it can be listed cheaper elsewhere or with a site that has a deal running so take the time to look carefully.
Camping or caravan parks can drive costs down and also be a lot of fun as a group.
TRAVEL CHEAP: If you are travelling to the hen, get the train together to save.
Three or more adults can get a third off off-peak tickets with GroupSave available on most train operators.
Or groups of ten or more may be able to get bigger savings if you book direct with the operator.
PARTY IN THE PARK: Dinner and drinks add up to a big expensive night out.
With lighter evenings, why not suggest an afternoon picnic on the beach or in the park instead?
Each hen can bring a dish and a blanket and you will have plenty of space to relax and have fun.
GAME ON: Planning a load of games for the group is a great activity to get everyone bonded and is completely free too.
An adult scavenger hunt, where you have to find or complete a list of tasks, will keep everyone busy for a while and adds a friendly bit of competition to the day.
You can create your own list – there is plenty of inspiration online if you are struggling.
It is always good to have a few wild options on there, but tailor it to the group and play it safe if you don’t know everyone.
