I DIYed a stylish lamp using spoons from Dollar Tree – people say it’s ‘elegant’ & ‘the definition of trust the process’
A DIY fan has proven that elegance can be made on a budget using her process.
She used simple items like spoons from Dollar Tree to create a fabulous lamp.
Neesy (@budgetfriendlycreations) filmed herself building the piece in a viral video on TikTok.
She used an empty tequila bottle for the base, taking a hair dryer to the labels for easy removal.
Next, she removed excess stickiness with rubbing alcohol.
From there, her Dollar Tree finds came in handy to completely transform the items into an elegant lamp.
HOW IT’S DONE
Using the clean and empty glass bottle, Neesy went to work on creating the shade.
She said she used “Dollar Tree spoons” to create a lotus-like design.
Neesy broke off the tops of the utensils and placed them around a gardening bowl.
She spray-painted the bottle in a sleek matte black.
For the lamp shade, which she added a light to, she sprayed it with a metallic gold paint.
The final product was a lamp that appeared store-bought and way pricier than what she got it for.
“This is a great idea on how to decorate while being on a budget,” she said.
“This is a table lamp.”

Several TikTokers chimed in to give their take on the DIY project.
“I needed a reason to buy a bottle of tequila this week,” one wrote. “It’s for crafting purposes.”
