King Charles gives Harry ultimate snub after son travelled 5,500 miles to the UK
King Charles is unable to meet with his youngest son Prince Harry who flew from California to London due to the monarch’s ‘full programme’.
The Duke of Sussex has been spotted at Armoury House near Old Street in London ahead of the Invictus Games tomorrow.
But his father King Charles was unable to make time in his ‘busy schedule’ to see his son who landed in London after flying from California.
A spokesperson for Harry said: ‘It unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme.
‘The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.’
Harry’s wife Meghan and their two children Archie and Lilibet did not travel with him.
The Duke is attending an Invictus Games discussion called ‘Realising a Global Community’ before tomorrows 10th anniversary service at St Paul’s cathedral.
He did invite Prince William and other senior members of the Royal Family to the service but none of them are expected to attend, sources told Page Six.
Royal fans have given their views from Buckingham Palace on the latest news.
Roy Walters, 52 from Utrecht, Netherlands: ‘I think the situation between Harry and the family is hilarious, it’s ridiculous.
‘I think it’s a deliberate choice they have both made. I can understand Charles’s point of view. But I’m not sure if Harry wants to meet him.’
Mark Rice, 39 and Anna Rice, 28, are visiting the UK from Utah in the US.
Mark told Metro: ‘Too bad that Charles’ health is not too good. Thats kind of sad.
‘Kate is having health issues too, I wonder how this is going to impact the Royal Family going forward.
‘We keep hoping that they will come back together, everyone loves Meghan and Harry and hope they come back to the family.
‘It’s his son and they haven’t seen each other in a while. If my mum was sick, I’d want her to see me.’
Charles was photographed being driven from Windsor Castle before arriving at Clarence House.
He resumed public duties last week for the first time since he started cancer treatment.
It is not believed Prince William be seeing his brother.
Harry and Meghan will be embarking on a tour of Nigeria later this week.
Harry is again expected to stay in a hotel during his brief time in the UK, as he no longer has the keys to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor following his move to the US.
But he is understood to have made contact with the Princess of Wales ‘privately’.
They also released a statement, saying: ‘We wish health and healing for Kate and the family.’
It is the first visit Harry has made to the UK since his siser-in-law Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis.
It will also be the first major event he attends in the country for some time due to his ongoing legal battle over his personal security arrangements with the Home Office.
Tomorrow’s service is expected to run from 5pm to 6pm, and comes two days after Prince Archie’s fifth birthday.
Members of the wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veteran community, will also be in attendance.
