UAlbany student no longer in medically induced coma after crash
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The UAlbany student who was hit by a dirt bike late in April on Hudson Avenue is no longer in a medically induced coma. Alexa Kropf, 18, is in critical but stable condition, is no longer on a ventilator, and breathing on her own, according to her father Jim Kropf.
Jim Kropf says while she is slowly moving in the right direction, she has a long road ahead.
Kropf was struck by a dirt bike that was weaving in and out of traffic just after midnight on April 27 on Hudson Avenue. Police are still searching for the suspect on the dirt bike.
In light of the accident, the Albany County Sheriff's Office ran an illegal motorbike detail in Albany County on May 3. As a result, 10 illegal bikes were taken off city streets.
