Hy-Vee recalls products for possible salmonella contamination
TOPEKA (KSNT) - A local grocery store chain is voluntarily recalling two products for potential salmonella contamination.
Hy-Vee is voluntarily recalling two kinds of Hy-Vee Cream Cheese Spread and its bulk-packages Cookies & Cream Mix due to a possible salmonella contamination on May 6, according to a news release from the company. These two products are manufactured at different third-party facilities in the Midwest and are sold under Hy-Vee's private label and bulk packaging programs.
Products impacted by this recall were distributed to Hy-Vee, Hy-Vee Drugstore and Dollar Fresh Market locations and Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh convenience stores in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas,
Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin, according to the release. As of Monday, May 6, these products have been removed from store shelves.

Hy-Vee customers who have purchased these products should dispose of the product or return it to their local Hy-Vee for a full refund. If you have questions, you can contact Hy-Vee Customer Care representatives at (800) 772-4098 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. central time Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, according to the release.
