Report: Newcastle ‘wary’ of two deals being hijacked amid Tottenham links
GiveMeSport say that Newcastle do not want their interest to be used as leverage by Tosin Adarabioyo and Lloyd Kelly to seal moves elsewhere as the Magpies continue to battle Tottenham Hotspur for the duo.
The report backs up what we have already heard from other sources over recent weeks by stating that Spurs are plotting moves for both Kelly and Adarabioyo as they look to add depth to their backline this summer.
The report says that the Lilywhites believe the Fulham and Bournemouth stars are solid options as free agents and that signing them would allow them to use their summer transfer budget on other areas of the pitch.
Newcastle’s concern about Adarabioyo and Kelly
GiveMeSport reveal that Newcastle also remain keen on the two centre-backs but are wary of their moves potentially being hijacked.
It is explained that Eddie Howe’s men want to strengthen their backline but they are concerned that the two English defenders might use their offers as leverage to land a bigger deal elsewhere.
However, the publication adds that Newcastle hold an advantage over Spurs in the race for Adarabioyo and Kelly as they can offer both players assurances of game time, which Ange Postecoglou cannot.
Spurs Web Opinion
Based on the various reports over the past few weeks, it does seem as if Tottenham are prioritising a move for Adarabioyo while Newcastle are more focused on landing Kelly.
My concern is that the Fulham star will be put off from coming to Spurs after witnessing Dragusin’s struggles for game time since arriving in January.
