More showers, cool temps wrap up weekend in Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — We put a bow on the weekend with more scattered rain showers throughout our Sunday morning and evening.
Around the Portland metro area in early afternoon, though, many of us will see light rain instead of that soaking rain that Saturday brought us.
Portland's rain forecast for Sunday stands at an additional quarter-inch of rain following nearly three-quarters of accumulated rain on Saturday.
WEATHER ALERTS
There's a Wind Advisory in effect from 2 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday for both the Washington and Oregon eastern Columbia Basins. Fallen tree limbs are possible and there will be a threat of power outages.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect now until 6 p.m. Sunday for the northern part of the Oregon Cascades including Marion and Linn counties and the Cascades of Lane County.
Mount Hood Meadows could see an additional 3 to 5 inches of new snow on Sunday.
LONGTERM FORECAST
Our daytime highs will once again be at least 10 degrees below normal on Sunday as we start our new week. But big changes are on the horizon!
By mid-week, drier skies will return along with more seasonal temps. And then late next week, we'll be feeling those summer vibes.
