“Different grass types do well with different mowing heights,” they wrote.
“Adjust accordingly to your turf type.
“Don’t mow all in one pattern each time you mow.
“For example, one mow should be back and forth, the next up and down, maybe even diagonal.
“It’ll prevent some grasses from growing odd.”
They revealed the method has kept their St. Augustine lawn flourishing.
According to Britannica, the grass type is a “vigorous coarse-textured warm-season plant.”

The gardening enthusiast also recommended using a tool to sharpen blades before mowing.
“Sharper blades will cut your grass clean and won’t leave it open to disease and wear,” they wrote on Reddit.
“Typically mowing is best done mid-morning or early evening.
“When it’s not too hot out, and it’s still light out, without the sun beating down.”

The hack comes after Jemma Vincent shared advice for lawn maintenance with The U.S. Sun.
She said taking notice of how the soil feels underneath your feet can help to identify what the grass needs to thrive.
She revealed areas that need aeration will feel especially hard.
Making small holes in the soil helps to reintroduce water, oxygen, and beneficial nutrients for the lawn to flourish.
The gardening expert also recommended not taking off more than a third of the grass length when mowing.
“When you cut your grass, let the clippings fall back into the soil,” Vincent added.
“This is a better way of fertilizing the grass naturally, preserving essential nutrients.”
