Athletics vs. Marlins game thread
Looking for six straight wins today
Last night was fun. Let’s keep the party going shall we? The A’s will look to make it six straight wins with another W today at the Coliseum against the Miami Marlins.
We might be looking at a bit of a later start than normal because of some poor weather today in the Bay Area. If this rain subsided then it’ll be right-hander Paul Blackburn on the mound for the Green & Gold. The former All-Star has generally been solid for the club, though he did get touched up a bit in his previous outing against the high-flying Baltimore Orioles. Today’s assignment against the Marlins should be a bit easier for Pauly B, especially after the Marlins just traded their leadoff guy in Luis Arraez.

Not much different from yesterday’s lineup except that JJ Bleday is in there in place of Max Schuemann in the outfield. Ruiz slides over to left field and the outfield defense should be a strength today. The bats will be facing the left-handed Trevor Rogers. Once considered one of the top young arms rising in the game, it’s been a tough couple seasons for Rogers but at least he’s healthy, which is more than you could say about the rest of the Miami pitching staff. The A’s will be hoping to rough up Rogers today at the Coliseum.
