Traffic accident kills four in Northern Afghanistan
Local officials in Faryab province say that as a result of a traffic accident in the city of Maimana, the capital of this province, four individual lost their lives.
The Traffic Department in Faryab province said in a statement that this incident occurred on Friday, May 3rd, in the “Katakom” area of Maimana city.
This department stated that the cause of the traffic accident was the deviation of a “Folder” type motorcycle from the road.
According to the statement on the cause of this incident, the driver’s recklessness has been cited.
According to the Traffic Department, the victims of this incident were between 22 and 29 years old.
Previously, following a traffic accident on the highway (Dara-e-Suf – Balkh), five people, including a child, were killed, and 21 others were injured.
This is happening while traffic incidents have increased in recent days, with dozens killed and injured in these incidents.
Excessive speed, driver recklessness, non-compliance with traffic laws, and road damage are considered factors in traffic incidents in the country.
