Man found dead after fire in CT house; police investigating
A Connecticut man was found dead inside his home Friday night after firefighters responded to a fire there, according to police.
The Stamford Fire Department was dispatched to the residential fire at 48 Powel Place just before 7 p.m. Friday, police said.
“After extinguishing the fire, they discovered the homeowner, Mark Palmer, 67… deceased inside the house,” Stamford police Capt. Thomas Scanlon said in an email. The statement also was sent by Lt. Douglas Deiso.
Police said the Stamford Fire Department Fire Marshal, Connecticut State Police Fire Investigators, and the Stamford Police Arson Unit responded to the home and “collaborated to assess any indications of foul play.”
The Stamford Police Department remains on scene as it is an active investigation, police said.
