My pro makeup tips make aging eyes look younger – a good primer minimizes creasing, skip traditional shadow application

A beauty expert revealed her go-to tips for making her eyes look younger.
In her viral video, Cortney Spencer (@cortneyspencer0) talked her followers through her anti-aging technique.
“As we age our eyes become more and more hooded so what that means is the skin hangs over more and more,” she explained.
The makeup pro recommended starting with a “good eyeshadow primer.”
“I strongly recommend priming those lids so that you can minimize product transfer, you can minimize creasing, and you can help your eyeshadow last all day,” Cortney said.
She highlighted the importance of creating a “nice smooth surface before you start.”
For her next step, she advised her audience to select a “nice matte shade.”
“We contour our faces to give ourselves a lift, you want to do the same thing to your eyes,” Cortney explained.
Using a fluffy brush, she demonstrated her “critical” application technique.
“You have got to apply the shade with your eyes open because as we age that hood becomes more and more obvious,” she said.
“If you just reapply it down here like a traditional application on the base of your lid, you’re not going to see that [lift].
“See how this added dimension?”
She explained that applying your eyeshadow above the crease helps to deepen it and creates a more “dynamic eye.”
Cortney also showed her viewers how she uses a matte shadow to line her lower lash line.
According to the pro, the product makes your eyes look younger than a “really tight liquid liner.”
“I think this just gives a really nice soft framed eye instead of that really tight thick liner all the way across the lash line,” she said.

Cortney recommended taking another non-traditional step when it comes to your lower lash line.
“Something you can do to make your eyes appear more open and alert is to take your concealer shade or a white eye pencil and line your water line,” she explained.
She also added highlighter to the inner corners of her eyes for a brighter finish.
For her final touch, she advised her followers to use their contour to frame their eyebrows.
