Saturday Essay: Governor’s H2Ohio program lets CAFOs pollute without cost
Gov. Mike DeWine came to northwestern Ohio in March to tout his H2Ohio program before the Regional Growth Partnership. He said “it’s on the ‘right path’ for reducing western Lake Erie algal blooms.” He picked a propitious time of the year to come — when there are no algal blooms in Lake Erie. By this summer, we will again be faced with the sickening, toxic, blue-green slime in the west-ern basin of Lake Erie, providing proof that we are not yet on the right path.
