Report: Spurs are ‘compiling a dossier’ on defender ahead of transfer window
Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur continue to study Bologna central defender Riccardo Calafiori closely ahead of a potential summer move.
Last week, it was claimed by Fabrizio Romano that Tottenham might face some complications if they push ahead with a move for Calafiori as the centre-back is also on Juventus’ radar (GiveMeSport).
This was subsequently backed up by Tuttosport a couple of days ago, with the outlet claiming that the Bianconeri had made the defender their top target and that the youngster’s preference is to remain in Serie A this summer.
Tottenham doing their homework on Calafiori
According to Football Insider’s latest update, Spurs are not ready to give up on their pursuit of Calafiori and are continuing to keep tabs on the Bologna star.
It is revealed that the Lilywhites have been compiling a dossier on the 21-year-old, with Fabio Paratici said to have got excellent feedback from his contacts in Italy about the player.
The report adds that the centre-back, who is strong in duals and good on the ball, is seen as a good fit for Ange Postecoglou’s system.
Spurs Web Opinion
Given the success that Tottenham have had with their recent recruits from Italy, it is not surprising that the club are looking towards the Serie A again to strengthen key areas this summer.
However, despite the links to the likes of Calafiori and Buongiorno, I suspect Adarabioyo would be Spurs’ top centre-back target this summer.
