TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Troy man was arrested and is accused of possessing and selling a stolen car. Mousse Saiid, 42, faces several charges.
On April 8, New York State Police say they received a complaint from a car dealership, saying they purchased a car reported stolen from New York City in 2023. After an investigation, State Police say Saiid sold the dealership a car with a fake title for over $30,000 in March 2024 in Malta.
According to State Police, during the sale, Saiid said he represented B&J Auto Sales in Rensselaer, and the car was listed for sale under the business' name. Police say the investigation found the vehicle identification number (VIN) had been altered and modified, and the title had been forged.
Charges:
- Third-degree grand larceny
- Third-degree criminal possession of stolen property
- Second-degree possession of a forged instrument
Saiid was arrested at this Troy home and taken to Saratoga State Police for processing. He was arraigned at the Malta Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
