Report: Spurs have ‘put out feelers’ for striker with 26 goals this season
Fussball Transfers have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have now made advances to sign Cercle Brugge’s marksman Kevin Denkey, who is having a prolific campaign.
Denkey is sitting at the top of the goalscoring charts in the Belgian top-flight this campaign, with 23 goals in the league and 26 across all competitions so far (Transfermarkt).
It was first reported by Foot Mercato back in March that Tottenham had scouted the 24-year-old this season and were plotting a potential summer move.
Spurs make advances for Kevin Denkey
Fussball Transfers have now said that Tottenham are not the only ones who admire Denkey, with German duo Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen also said to be eyeing moves for the striker.
However, it is alleged that it is Spurs and Napoli who have acted first, with both clubs alleged to have ‘put out feelers’ for the centre-forward ahead of the summer.
The publication adds that Cercle Brugge are set to demand a fee of around €20m (£17m) to let the Togo international leave this summer.
Spurs Web Opinion
Based on the multiple updates over the last few weeks, it is clear that Totteham’s scouts are watching Denkey closely. However, that does not mean that they are likely to send an offer for him. I suspect the 24-year-old will not be near the top of Spurs’ striker wishlist.
