28,000 Foreign Nationals enter and exit Afghanistan in past year: National Statistics Authority
The Afghanistan National Statistics and Information Authority have announced that the entry and exit of 27,914 foreign citizens through the country’s gateways and airports have been registered over the past year.
The National Statistics and Information Authority stated in today’s newsletter, Wednesday, May 1st, that during the past year, 15,153 individuals, including 675 females, entered the country, and 12,761 individuals, including 495 females, exited.
According to the recorded figures of this authority, the highest entry and exit of foreign nationals have occurred through the Nimroz province gateway, Herat’s gateways and airports, the Torkham gateway, the Hairatan gateway, and Kabul International Airport.
According to these figures, the primary purpose of most entrants to the country has been tourism and sightseeing.
Since the Taliban assumed control, the international community has isolated the group, refusing to recognize it as the legitimate government. This isolation has had dire consequences for the country’s economy, livelihoods, and future job prospects.
The international community’s lack of recognition has led to severe economic challenges for the people of Afghanistan. With limited access to international aid and trade, the economy has suffered, impacting livelihoods and creating uncertainty in the country.
