It is a protein which contains important amino acids that gives our skin bounce and makes it feel firm.
“Collagen helps give the skin structure and elasticity”, explains leading cosmetic nurse and independent prescriber Nina Prisk, of Update Aesthetics
“It makes it look springy and healthy.
“But as a natural part of the ageing process, from our mid-twenties onwards, our collagen levels decline and this impacts the appearance and feel of the skin, which in time begins to wrinkle and sag.”
So it’s no surprise that savvy shoppers have been left in a frenzy over the bargain collagen-boosting face serum.
Posting a picture of their find on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, one beauty fan said: “£43 online- £1.99 Home Bargains.
“First time I used it today, it’s really good.”
A fellow shopper chimed in: “I seriously need this.”
A third asked a pal: “If you see any of these in our Home Bargains, will you grab me a few pls?”
A fourth sighed: “Brilliant stuff but always sold out in our local store.”
Meanwhile, a fifth gushed: “I’ve used this (bought from HB previously). It’s fab, really sinks into your skin. Skin feels so moisturised.”
And a sixth added: “Wow!! I’ve been using this from Home Bargains for ages and love it. Now I know this, I think I love it a bit more.”
Describing the product, Dead Sea Collection bosses said: “Enriched with our Natural Dead Sea Minerals this rich and intensive formula this concentrated serum helps keep the skin smooth and looking youthful.
“Regular application helps target the effects of stress, sun, and pollution, for a more radiant appearance.”

Here’s five of the best recommended beauty buys that are almost identical to the posh versions, but for a fraction of the price.
FACE BASE: If you can’t afford Charlotte Tilbury’s £52 Magic Cream, why not try a dupe that costs just £5.49 from Superdrug?
TONE IT UP: If Drunk Elephant’s £62 Protini moisturiser is out of your price range, you’ll need to check out the new dupe in Home Bargains.
TINTING IT: With Fenty’s ‘game-changer’ skin tint costing an eye-watering £29, a popular supermarket’s affordable alternative might just be the thing for you.
GET COVERED: At £29 for a Tarte concealer, the new Primark dupe is much more affordable at just £3.50.
SPRAY YAY: For those wanting to smell fresh, without the price tag, Aldi’s new Prada and Chloe perfume dupes cost a fraction of the price.
