Postecoglou reveals another Spurs player is out for the season after Timo Werner injury
Speaking to the press ahead of the Chelsea game tomorrow, Tottenham Hotspur boss, Ange Postecoglou, discussed the latest addition to his growing list of injuries, with Ben Davies expected to now miss the rest of the season.
Tottenham came away from the North London derby with no points and a disappointed fanbase after a 3-2 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but it seems the impact of that game is further reaching.
We’ve already seen Timo Werner now struggling with a hamstring issue after that game, but Ben Davies is the latest to be added to the list of concerns.
With Destiny Udogie already out for the rest of the season, the fact that the second-choice left-back at Spurs is now unavailable, too, will come as a massive blow to Ange Postecoglou‘s plans.
Ben Davies suffers calf injury in North London derby
In his latest interview (via Tottenham Hotspur’s official social media), Postecoglou was asked for any updates on the team ahead of the Chelsea game tomorrow, and delivered some bad news about Davies.
He said: “Unfortunately Ben Davies picked up a calf issue which will probably rule him out for the rest of the games [this season].”
The Welshman had stepped in to fill the void left behind by Udogie for the Arsenal game, and was expected to play that role for the final five games this season. With Ryan Sessegnon also injured, it is likely Emerson Royal will likely now take on the left-back role for the remaining games.
Spurs Web Opinion
When it rains, it pours at Tottenham, doesn’t it? I think it’s safe to say that we need to sign a new left-back in the summer, especially if we are looking at moving Sergio Reguilon and Ryan Sessegnon on at the end of the season. We have to have better cover than we currently do.
