DO you fancy earning £22,000 in just one day? Lidl could have provided the solution.
The discount supermarket is calling on the British public to help find them locations for over 100 new stores across the country.
Lidl is set to open hundreds of new stores across the UK[/caption] If you know of a great potential store location, you could earn £22,000[/caption]Lidl is aiming to have 1,100 stores by the end of 2025 and will offer a hefty finders fee for people who are able to help find suitable sites.
Richard Taylor, Chief Development Officer at Lidl GB, said: “We know that the majority of British shoppers still love doing their shopping in person and we are as committed as ever to opening new stores and enhancing our existing ones.
“We’re opening an average of one new store a week, which is incredible, and our teams have done a phenomenal job of keeping that pace going over the last couple of years.
“But there are still communities up and down the country that are telling us how much they want – and need – a Lidl store.
“Our finder’s fees are, therefore, available to absolutely anyone that can identify a viable option for a new store that we’re not already aware of, and we welcome any suitable suggestions that will help us to meet our ambitious target of 1,100 stores by the end of 2025.”
They clarified that the finders fee is either 1.5 per cent of the total freehold purchase price or 10 per cent of first year’s rent for leaseholds.
This would equate to £22,500 for a completed £1.5m site purchase.
Requirements include the space having parking for over 100 cars on a 18,000 sq ft plot, with the population in the catchment area being 20,000.
Lidl said that it is looking for sites in prominent locations with easy access and strong pedestrian or traffic flow.
Lidl said it will also consider freehold, leasehold or long leasehold opportunities.
The supermarket has also published a list of desired locations across the country that could be of key interest, if you know a suitable spot there.
The list includes, amongst many others, Bristol, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, Oxford, Birmingham, Cambridge and Edinburgh.
Since the beginning of 2022, Lidl has opened 23 new stores, including in Warwick, Hounslow and Straiton.
