Manchester man arrested in connection with Sunday night shooting
Maryland State Police have arrested Jose Manchame, 41, of Manchester, and charged him with first-degree assault in connection with a shooting at a Manchester house party Sunday night.
On Sunday, Maryland State Police reported that a man injured by gunfire had been dropped off at the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office in Westminster shortly after 6 p.m. The man was flown by a state police helicopter to Shock Trauma at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, police said. As of Tuesday, there is no other information on his condition.
At the time police said the shooting took place during a party at a residence in the 4900 block of Hanover Pike (Route 30) in Manchester, about 13 miles from the sheriff’s office.
The incident forced the closure of Route 30 for several hours while police investigated.
The Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division is leading the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Tfc. Noah Potvin at noah.potvin@maryland.gov.
